Privacy and data protection. We believe that every person has a right to this. That is why we at Privacy Company go to great lengths to help our clients with the most challenging issues in this field. Wondering how you can contribute to our objective as a technical researcher?

About Privacy Company

Privacy is one of the most important social issues today. Our mission? That makes it more relevant than ever. We help our clients at home and abroad with practical advice, data protection impact assessments (DPIA) and software to mitigate privacy and security risks. We do this for a wide variety of clients, from The Hague and Berlin and always with a customer-oriented approach. With our DPIAs and HRIAs, we make a difference for hundreds of thousands of people across Europe.

Recently, we started working together with the information security company PuraSec. That means even more substantive knowledge and opportunities for developments.

What will you be working on?

As a technical researcher at Privacy Company, you will collaborate on the technical analyses within DPIAs. You will do this in collaboration with highly experienced experts. The DPIAs are in-depth investigations and often involve commonly used software packages such as Microsoft Office. You will assist in setting up and executing test scenarios and analysing the results of the tests. The tests take place on various technical platforms. The outcomes therefore require good analytical skills.

What makes this position different? Privacy Company is a scale-up and, together with PuraSec, consists of more than 60 employees. You have a fixed team and a fixed Team Leader, but you also work with everyone in the organisation on projects. For example, with a Senior Consultant, or with one of the directors. So you get to know the whole organisation in a short time.

What do you bring?

- Creativity and the mindset of an (ethical) hacker;
- Technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows, MacOS, browsers, Android, iOS;
- Knowledge of hacking tools such as Frida and Mitmproxy and network analysis tools such as Wireshark;
- Data analysis skills to make sense of test results using, for example, SQL or Python scripting;
- You are curious and have a drive to make things better.
- Up to 3 years of (relevant) work experience.

In addition, you are able to explain technical findings clearly in Dutch and English and are keen to delve further into both the legal, technical and organisational side of privacy. Curiosity is one of the things that characterise you. You enjoy learning new things and know how to explain complex issues clearly and in a customer-friendly way. You are a go-getter and able to work in a structured way.

What will you get in return?

You will work for an ambitious and informal organisation with motivated colleagues who are always ready to help each other. You will be given a lot of responsibility and room for initiative.  In short, an environment where you can really make a difference.

We also offer:

- A salary of € 3245 to € 4648
- A position for a minimum of 32 and a maximum of 40 hours;
- 25 holidays (for full-time employment) and 8% holiday pay;
- A good pension allowance;
- A suitable travel allowance;
- The opportunity for continuous self-development through training and guidance on your personal development;

You will work at the client's location, at home or at our office in The Hague;
