Moving forward together: PuraSec and Privacy Company join forces

April 10, 2025
Information security and privacy go hand in hand. Both are necessary to keep your organisation and information safe and to ensure that you comply with laws and regulations. That is why PuraSec and Privacy Company are moving forward together in a joint venture. From now on, these two Dutch companies will offer a complete package of services for all your privacy and security questions.

Over the past six years, PuraSec has worked to make information security easier and more accessible. This has enabled many organisations to take important steps that they had previously considered too complex. Privacy Company has worked to make the world more privacy-friendly over the past 10 years. It has conducted important investigations (Data Protection Impact Assessments) that have had an impact throughout Europe. Privacy Company has also contributed to greater privacy awareness in the Netherlands. Both companies have a strong position in the market and are known for their pragmatic approach and accessibility.

Charl, director and founder of PuraSec: ‘We have known each other for years and know that our companies are a good match in terms of approach and people. This collaboration is more than the sum of its parts; together we can really make a difference. And this is just the beginning.’

Stronger together

The merger will create an organisation that offers the best of both worlds: from penetration testing and awareness programmes to privacy management software and the implementation of various standards and guidelines. Information security is subject to more and more legal obligations due to regulations such as NIS2, DORA and CRA. At the same time, you see that privacy is moving more in the direction of standards, audits and certifications. The merged company offers flexible deployment of security and privacy officers to help organisations deal with these developments in the right way.

‘By joining forces, we can offer an even more comprehensive range of services,’ says Roos, director and founder of PuraSec. "This enables us to provide our customers with digital products such as e-learning and software in addition to advice on security and privacy. This expansion also makes us more attractive as an employer, because people can specialise in various areas and continue to learn.‘

Frank Koppejan, director and founder of Privacy Company, adds: ’With this step, we combine legal, technical and organisational expertise to unburden our customers. We do this with a team of smart, enthusiastic professionals who work together perfectly."

The merger brings together more than 60 professionals with a combined total of hundreds of years of experience in privacy and cybersecurity. They serve clients in multiple countries and organisations in virtually all sectors within both government and the business community.

What does this mean for the future?

The joint venture will continue to strive to make information security and privacy understandable. We translate complex laws and regulations into practical applications. ‘Together, we will help even more companies and organisations increase their maturity in the field of information security and privacy,’ Charl, Roos and Frank say enthusiastically.

The head office of PuraSec and Privacy Company is located in The Hague. The brands PuraSec, Privacy Company and Privacy Nexus will continue to exist. The offices in Berlin and Zwolle will remain open. For customers, nothing will change in terms of the services they are accustomed to, except that even more expertise and products will be available if they want them.
